"Lampwork" is the term used for working hot glass in a flame, or flameworking. The term came from the use of oil lamps centuries ago, to produce the heat and flame needed to melt the glass. Today, flameworkers use torches that can mix both fuel and oxygen for a much hotter flame and easier control.

I took a workshop with Stephanie Maddalena in October 2005 at the Art School at Old Church and immediately fell in love with beadmaking. The ability to manipulate and cut hot glass is enthralling and from there I developed a series of "fleurettes". Since then, I have expanded into other sculptural beads.

All my jewelry is created with lampwork beads I have made myself that have been properly kiln annealed for strength and durability. I combine them with sterling or Argentium silver, Swarovski crystals, semi-precious and czech glass beads and greek leather. I hope you enjoy looking at my creations, each one is unique and special to me.
